In the early days of the pandemic, the Austrian government asked ENJO International to work with local partners to produce face masks for the public – see our video below.

For clarity, these are not medical products and are intended instead for members of the public, to supplement your regular social distancing measures and help you avoid infecting other people when out and about.

Will the mask protect me from Covid-19?

ENJO reusable face masks are made of the highest quality materials, but they are not a medical product and are not designed to shield the wearer from virus transmission. Instead, they are specifically designed to help you avoid spreading the virus to other people in the event that you are infectious and are not showing symptoms.

We want to be really clear that it is still vital to maintain the usual measures of rigorous hand washing and social distancing when wearing the mask, to avoid transmitting the virus.

What is the mask made of?

ENJO is known for quality materials and we have access to excellent suppliers. Our manufacturing partners have researched the most effective types of fabric to design an optimum product that delivers on both comfort and protection. The ENJO reusable mask features a double-sided fabric: a flexible cotton/lycra mix which fits comfortably, and a tough micro polyamide fabric to provide a dense, protective barrier.

In recent tests performed by the US Army, microfibre fabric was shown to be one of the most effective fabrics to use as a face covering.

How does it feel to wear?

The premium material is incredibly breathable, making the mask comfortable to wear even in high temperatures. At the same time, the dense polyamide component offers excellent protection and the mask is wide enough to fully cover your nose, mouth and the lower part of your face, with an external seam for improved comfort. Robust elastic straps hook neatly over your ears to keep the mask securely in place.

The mask is currently available in one adult size and measures 20cm x 13cm. Most people find it fits well but if your face is very petite, you may wish to make some simple home-sewing adjustments to the elastic. We don’t recommend that our masks are worn by young children.

Please bear in mind that we are unable to offer refunds or receive returns on the masks due to the nature of the product. If you’re unsure about the sizing then we suggest you initially order the 2-pack instead of the 5-pack.

How do I clean the mask?

Wash your mask before first use and then, each time you wear it, you can wash it between 60-90ºC and wear again. Your high-quality mask will remain in excellent condition for at least 50 washes, and we recommend replacing it at that point for your comfort. This sustainable solution helps protect the environment as well as your health – a cornerstone of our ENJO philosophy.
